Accounts Assistant/Legal Cashier
The role:
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant/Legal Cashier to support our Practice Manager.
You will support the management of financial transaction and accounts of the firm.
You will have excellent attention to detail and knowledge of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) accounting rules and procedures.
Key responsibilities:
- Handling day-to-day banking transactions, including client and office account management;
- Processing payments, receipts and transfers;
- Ensuring all transactions comply with SRA accounting rules;
- Reconciling bank statements for office and client accounts;
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers;
- Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures;
- Liaising with fee earners and clients regarding payments and accounts queries;
- Supporting the finance team with other administrative duties as needed.
Skills:
- Previous experience within an accounts/finance department;
- Knowledge of SRA rules;
- Strong understanding of accounting procedures and financial management;
- Excellent IT skills, including legal accounting software and Microsoft Office;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Strong organisational and communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
