Richard, born and bred in Coventry, qualified in 1990 and has worked in the Coventry area throughout his career building close professional and personal ties with other legal professionals and experts alike. He joined Penmans in March 2023.

Richard deals with all types of injury claims, fatal accidents, road traffic accidents, accidents at work, tripping or slipping claims, or claims for medical negligence, ranging from those worth a few thousand pounds to those worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. He has a wide breadth of experience and enjoys challenging cases.

Richard also specialises in claims where there has been a miscarriage of justice, including false imprisonment and unlawful/wrongful arrest cases, using his knowledge of criminal law to seek justice for those whose civil liberties have been infringed. He is one of the very few lawyers in the West Midlands who specialise in this area and has clients referred from Criminal law firms throughout the area.

Richard states: “I strive to obtain Justice for all clients and make the legal process as transparent and stress free as possible. I pride myself on being approachable and accessible, so that clients know they have someone fighting their corner whom they can speak to and who will try to understand their situation and needs”

Richard’s aim has always been to make a difference, helping people in difficult and often life changing situations.

In his spare time Richard enjoys sport, particularly watching  the mighty Sky Blues and regularly cycles over some of the highest Mountain passes in Europe.
